BSW is recognized as the "Best exporter of the year" for the fourth consecutive years
According to the results of the contest "Best exporter of 2017" held by Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, OJSC «BSW- management company of «BMC» holding» is recognized as a leader in the nomination "Metallurgy". The solemn ceremony of awarding the winners took place in Minsk on May, 31. For BSW that winning in the competition was the fourth in a row: the title of "Best exporter" was received by the plant on the basis of the results of 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Byelorussian Steel Works is an export oriented enterprise. Annually more than 85% of the products manufactured in the production shops of the plant are sold outside of the country. According to the results of the year 2017 the enterprise exported almost 1,9 mio t of steel products for the amount over USD 995,5 mio that was higher than in 2016 by 126,8 thou. t. for the amount of USD 269,0 mio. Grows rate was 137,0 %. Similar tendency is followed in 2018. For 4 months the plant supplied its products to 52 countries (+8 to the level of 2017). During this period, the company has not only expanded its geographical presence, but also increased exports in natural terms (103,6%) and in value terms (136,6%).
Of course, an important criterion for the competitiveness of Zhlobin steel in foreign markets is its high quality. Thus, according to the results of audits carried out by consumers in 2017, the plant was given a high positive assessment by «Business Trend Gaspromneft-Snabzhenie» LLC., PSC «ТМК», Timken, Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH, Continental, Eaton, JSC «Cordiant», Goodyear, Schmiedag GmbH, Muhr und Bender KG, Groupe Renault, etc. Totally last year and in the beginning of 2018 at BSW were successfully carried out 36 external certification/inspection audits in order to prove conformity of the products and QMS.
It is important to note that BSW pays a lot of attention to the improvement of existing technologies and new developments. For example, in 2017, 56 new types of products were introduced into production, and the volume of innovative products in the total volume of shipments was 25 percent. Huge share in that indicator belongs to Small-section rolling shop №2 (SRS-2), which was put into operation in 2015. Share of SRS-2 products in the total volume of shipped innovative products of BSW in 2017 was 51,1 percent.
Currently, Belarusian Steel Works holds 61 certificates of conformity for the production of various types of products (hot-rolled reinforcing steel in bars and coils, wire rod, pipes, long products, cold-deformed reinforcing wire, fiber), issued by national and foreign certification bodies. During the entire history of the company its products were exported to 118 countries.
